Education - Physical Education Concentration Grades K-12, A.S.

About This Degree

The Physical Education teaching program option provides students the first two years of preparation to teach physical education from kindergarten through grade 12. The program emphasizes such topics as fitness and wellness development and assessment, movement exploration, motor development, anatomy and physiology, and the development of appropriate teaching methods. Upon successful program completion, students will transfer to a 4-year institution of their choice in order to complete their baccalaureate degree and be eligible for the Indiana Department of Education Teaching license.

A Two-Year Program Leading to the A.S. Degree

This program is designed for Physical Education students who wish to teach in grades K-12. Upon completion of this program, students may transfer to their selected baccalaureate institution in programs preparing for the Indiana State Department of Education licensing options for teaching physical education.
